What Are You Waiting For? (fine art print)

This was a big thing for me. Realizing that there is no "perfect time" to start something. You have to make the perfect time, not wait for it. When it comes to taking a trip, looking for a new job, getting into shape, quitting a bad habit... don't wait until the first of the month. Don't wait until Monday. Don't wait until a new year, or next week. Start now. Do it now.

This painting was really fun to create! I started by creating a background of maps, sheet music, and graph paper. Then I painted and splattered with acrylic and alcohol ink.

The hourglass was the fun part: it is an illustration on paper in ink, then I added layers of book pages depicting stars and galaxies. I really liked the idea of a celestial hourglass.

Once upon a time in 2012, after quitting my desk job to be a full-time artist, I attempted a 40 Works In 40 Days project. Being someone who has a huge amount of trouble finishing what I start, the project was never competed. So I am going to try again :) You can read about the original project HERE.
