The Dreaming Tree (fine art print)

Dream catchers, or lakota, originated with the Native American Ojibwe people and spread through other Native American tribes. There is said to have been a Spider Woman, or Asibikaashi, who took care of the Ojibwe children. When the tribe became too large, she could not reach all of them any longer, so the mothers and grandmothers of the villages began weaving beautiful, intricate webs for the children in her honor. The woven webs of the dream catchers are said to filter out bad dreams and only let the good ones through.

I have been fascinated with dream catchers since I was a child. There is a song by Dave Matthews Band called "The Dreaming Tree," which is where the inspiration for this piece came from.

This mixed media illustration was created using ink pen, some found paper, and Photoshop.

A vibrant and unique bohemian art print to hang this in your room: let it chase all of your bad dreams away.

Printed on 100% acid free cotton fine art paper using Epson UltraChrome K3 inks to last a lifetime. Print includes a white border for framing purposes, so nothing is cut off. Initialed and dated on front and titled, signed, and dated on the back with pencil.
