The Center (fine art print)

$18.00

I've had the idea for this in my head for a long time. I did a sketch of it while bartending one night two years ago, after I first saw one of those "The earth without art is just 'eh'" bumper stickers. I loved the idea of the word art being right in the center of the word earth, and wanted to create my own interpretation of that. To me, this means a lot of things. The earth is art. The way the trees grow and the flowers bloom, the way the mountains rise into the sky. It is all art. But also, this print reflects the importance of actual art, of creating, to the world.

I created the original mixed media painting of "The Center" using graph paper, old atlas pages, vintage book pages, acrylic paint, watercolor, alcohol ink, white out pen, micron pen, and marker.

Once upon a time in 2012, after quitting my desk job to be a full-time artist, I attempted a 40 Works In 40 Days project. Being someone who has a huge amount of trouble finishing what I start, the project was never competed. So I am going to try again :) You can read about the original project HERE.
