I’ve had numerous surreal moments in my so-far three year journey of putting my art out into the world. When I was invited by Jamie and Kasia of Everything Art to be a teacher for Wanderlust 2016, and share my mixed media adventures along side of the artists I have looked up to and been inspired by for ages now, surreal only somewhat covers it. Shocked, honored, humbled, nervous, insanely super excited… all those things too!
What is Wanderlust 2016?
It’s a combination of some of my favorite things under the sun: art journaling, mixed media, and travel. It’s an online class, but not just one online class. Wanderlust is a whole year long journey – an online event offering you videos from 24 guest teachers and 2 resident teachers one every week (each one downloadable and with PDF instructions provided), 50 amazing videos, which will run for over 50 hours in total, access to a forum with an amazing and friendly community, inspirations, challenges, discussions, galleries, workshops, giveaways and generous discounts from our partners. And you can experience it all in your home, from your phone, on a laptop while on a travel adventure of your own!
26 teachers means you will get a deep look into the styles of 26 individuals, find out what inspires us, secret tips and techniques, our favorite go-to materials. Those art journal pages you have saved on Pinterest? You will be able to create your own. We promise to light a fire within you when you take this journey with us.
Even more great news: early registration is now open, making each class only about $2.00 each. The price will go up once this period is over, so now is the time to jump on it if you’re interested.
As far revealed are: Kate Crane, Teresa McFayden, Rachel Greig, Beckah Krahula, Joanne Sharpe, Flora Bowley, Mystele, Andy Skinner, Finnabair, Birgit Koopsen, Lindsay Weirich, Magda Polakow, Carolyn Dube, Stephanie Schutze and Maryia Potapovich.
I cannot wait to share my process and techniques and inspiration with you, but what I am most excited about is to share with you how much art journaling can add to your life. To me, it’s simply a part of me, it’s my therapy. It’s my happy place, and my solace during tough times. Art journaling can teach you things about yourself that you didn’t even know existed. Each page tells a story, and everyone definitely has stories to tell
2016 is going to be an exciting year. Thank you, Jamie and Kasia, thank you a million times.
